Avoid this place at all costs. You expect to pay a bit more for food at a hotel like this. However you also expect good food worthy of the cost.

The food was not tasty, there was no vegetarian option and there was just 4 options on menu, but the place was beautiful.

We noticed that this place was empty when elsewhere at Chateau Yerring was very busy. Now we know why....

We paid $64 for coffee, cake and chips that was below average. When we received the food it was like someone had just thrown stuff, with no care, on the plate. It was really really bad. I cannot stress strongly enough that there is a mismatch here. They believe they are a fine dinning experience and they charge at that level but only deliver to the level of corner shop.

Waited for a long long time for meals to arrive and the portions are so small and cooked so simply that's no where near what's described in the menu. Very disappointed.

Not good. Walking into the entrance of this place, you get the idea it may be expensive. But that's Ok. We were down for that because USUALLY, this means it will be nice and is normally worth a treat. How wrong we were. Firstly, my partner, our 2 kids, friends and myself were seated at our tables and given the menus. After a short while, the waitress approached us to ask if we would like to order. We hadn't even been shown the drinks menu yet. So I asked for the drinks menu. Now this plsce is a winery in the yarra valley, so i understand the menu will contain wine and similar products - champagne etc.. However, we were not actually looking for alcoholic drinks today. Just juiices and soft drinks. We could not locate these on the 20 page menu. They were there hoewver, 1 line in the middle of the menu. We discovered this only after she showed us. ANyhow, when she returned again, I had to pint out that we needed a kids menu., SHe had to ogo and get it. Now anyone with half a brrain knows that when a 1.5 year old and 6 year old come to a restaurant, if there is a kids menu, YOU PROVIDE IT. Not this silly waitress. After waiting 50 minutes and our child cracking a tantrum, we got our meals. Small and overpriced. Thge said was $18 for lettuce and beetroot. No dressing or ANYTHING ELSE. As our youngest by now was cracking a tntrum, we had to leave. Don't go hear expecting anything special - but do expect a wait, bad service overpriced meals - albeit my meal was nice if not small.

If you doubt this we paid $18 for three small scoops of sorbet. We bought this up with the waitress when paying and she was so embarrassed you could see it on her face.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this over priced fast food place and try elsewhere. Shameful.
